SMART BASE 2518A is a yellow to amber, low-odor sulfurized fatty oil–based extreme pressure (EP) additive containing low active sulfur components. It delivers excellent lubricity, anti-wear, and EP performance, and is recommended for use in neat oil and emulsifiable oil formulations for machining ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
SMART BASE 2518A has relatively low viscosity and offers excellent blending flexibility with other additives and base oils. Compared with conventional additives with similar sulfur content, it delivers superior extreme pressure performance.
SMART BASE 2518A is recommended for use in formulations for machining stainless steel and titanium alloys.
SMART BASE 2518A exhibits low corrosivity toward non-ferrous metals and is suitable for machining brass and bronze.
SMART BASE 2518A demonstrates good compatibility and stability with other additives as well as various base oils, including mineral oils, synthetic hydrocarbons, and synthetic esters, enabling flexible formulation of a wide range of metalworking fluids.
