Adtecᵀᴹ 236 is referred to as NPO that is a simple ester of oleic acid and n-propanol. It is a low-viscosity synthetic ester and offers excellent lubricity, good solvency, and good low-temperature fluidity. Adtecᵀᴹ 236 was found biodegradable according to the European 21 days and EPA 28 days biodegradability tests.
Applications:
Adtecᵀᴹ 236 can be used as a lubricity additive for semi-synthetic and synthetic metalworking fluids for light to medium-duty applications. Its good solvency and low-temperature properties made it possible as a solvent or process oil for industrial use. It is approved for incidental food contact to enable it to be employed as a lubricant for food-related applications. Like other oleyl esters, Adtecᵀᴹ 236 is inherently a good candidate as a plasticizer or processing aid for the polymer industry.
