SMART BASE AW2185 is a low odor, low foam polyether ester that provides excellent wetting, lubricating and anti-wear properties.
SMART BASE AW2185 has inverse solubility characteristic that can develop oil films at the contact points between cutting/grinding tool and the workpieces, where heat is built. It can effectively dissipate produced heat and protect the tools from wearing.
SMART BASE AW2185 is recommended for use in formulating fully-synthetic coolants that can enhance product finishing, and has anti-corrosion capability for aluminum alloys.
SMART BASE AW2185 can also be formulated into soluble oils or semi-synthetic coolants where chlorinated paraffin is not preferable.
SMART BASE AW2185 is insoluble in water, but prone to be soluble when blended with the alkalic nature compound, the final value of alkalinity depends on the added quantities of alkaline material. In addition, prior neutralization of SMART BASE AW2185 can be made by amines such as triethanolamine, diethanolamine, or monoethanolamine before blended into the synthetic coolants.
SMART BASE AW2185 exhibits no foam property in alkaline environment.
