SMART BASE RP2330 is an oil soluble additive designed for use in formulating high performance oil-based rust preventives. It is a blend of vegetable derived waxes and esters in combination with a barium soap. SMART BASE RP2330 provides an excellent rust-proof film on the metal surfaces and imparts protection even in acidic environment.
SMART BASE RP2330 is light color, low odor, and with low viscosity; which make it easy to be blended into finished products under room temperatures. It can be blended with mineral oils or mineral spirits of different volatilities for different drying rate of rust preventive oils.
SMART BASE RP2330 can easily be removed using an alkaline cleaner or by solvent degreasing.
SMART BASE RP2330 exhibits good result in salt spray test when compared with other ester-based products such as Smart Base RP3393. It can last for 94 hours.
