SMART BASE 2518 is yellowish amber, low-odor sulfuirzed fatty oil, with low active sulfur, good lubricity, anti-wear and extreme pressure characteristics. It is recommended for use in formulations for neat oil and soluble oil machining on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
SMART BASE 2518 possesses low viscosity and is easy to be blended together with other additives and base oils. It exhibits superior EP property compared to conventional equivalent amounts of sulfur-containing additives.
SMART BASE 2518 is recommended in the formulations for machining the alloys of stainless steel and titanium.
SMART BASE 2518 will not easy to corrode yellow metals; so it can be used to machine brasses and bronzes.
SMART BASE 2518 has good stability and compatibility with other additives and different groups of base oils, which make it easy for blenders to use for blending different types of machining oils.
