The bacteria–fungi dip slide is an economical, fast and accurate test slide. It is used to measure the count and growth rate of bacteria, fungi and yeasts in water-based systems.
Malt extract agar (brown side): nutrients for yeast and fungi only. The low pH suppresses bacteria. Mold colonies are fuzzy; yeast colonies are smooth and round.
Tryptone glucose extract agar (clear side): bacteria grow as red or colorless colonies. Do not be misled by colony color or size. Each colony is one growing microorganism. Colorless colonies must also be counted.
Storage: store at room temperature; do not refrigerate.
Shelf life: 7 months from the date of manufacture.
